Cooler Games at Dust Devil Stadium ~ Sunshade Project Up and Running
February 27th, 2007
PASCO — The City of Pasco started construction of a new 85-foot-tall sunshade for the stadium.
The sunshade will cover all seats, especially on the third base side where the sun affects fans the most..
The Dust Devils, along with four other Washington minor league ball clubs received funding by the state for stadium improvements.
“The number one thing we’ve been hearing as far as the negative is, it’s too hot, it’s too hot, it’s too hot, so we really made it a priority to try and get this sunshade structure done so that we can provide shade,” said Brent Miles, President and General Manager of the Dust Devils.
Miles says during the hot summer months, the shade will make it 20 degrees cooler.
The shade is expected to be completed by the middle of June.
Opening day for the Dust Devils is June 24th.
