Kennewick VFW Post Celebrates 50 Years

They served in different eras and fought in different wars, but Friday, more than 50 members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5785 reminisced as the Kennewick post celebrated its golden anniversary.
Retired soldiers, members of the women’s auxiliary, children and grandchildren joined at the Kennewick headquarters to pay their respects to the post’s former and current members while honoring the passing of a major milestone.
“I feel good,” said Ray Perchalski, a 30-year member of the post. “I feel proud to be a veteran and proud that this post has been here 50 years.”
For five decades, Post 5785 has offered financial assistance to veterans struggling to pay their bills, given old soldiers a place to share their memories and provided members a sense of camaraderie…[more]

The Veterans have often used Marquee Hire for their celebration. Marquees are common for large wedding, fairs, and other gatherings. They are made from tough vinyl. These tents are very expensive and require specilized equipment and skill to erect, so they usually must be rented.
