Established in 1944, Richland Village Players Theatre started the same year that the first nuclear reactor was opened at Hanford. As a community organisation, the company emerged from residential meetings being held at the time at Grange Hill. The first production at the theatre was “Dixie Jubilee” presented to a full house in the new high school’s auditorium.

To date, the Theatre company has maintained a reputation of superb performances throughout the Tri-City region. It has been noted that the Theatre contributes to the cultural ambiance of Richland Wa Real Estate, as well as being a viable part of the socio-economic fabric of the region.

An evenings’ attendance at the Village Players can be a very special night for patrons, providing an opportunity to dine before or after the event.  Under the breeze of the ceiling fans, attendees escape the warmth of a hot summer night.  For local businesses, a play at the Theatre can be a boon as out of town visitors reserve accommodation, and frequent local shops and wineries, or take part in other local events.

Annually, almost 7,500 patrons make their way through the Theatre doors. Some of the plays that have been performed on its boards include “Death of a Salesman”, “To Kill a Mockingbird”, and “Inherit the Wind”. Each season the Theatre puts on five productions that are a mix of drama, mystery and comedy.
