Washington State Ranks 5th as Friendliest State for Entrepreneurs

The annual Small Business Survival Index 2006, released in late November, studied public policy environments in states as to their friendliness to small businesses and entrepreneurs. The top five entrepreneur-friendly states are: 1) South Dakota, 2) Nevada, 3) Wyoming, 4) Alabama, and 5) Washington. The bottom five states or areas ranked for anti-entrepreneurial policy environments are: 47) Maine, 48) Rhode Island, 49) California, 50) New Jersey, and 51) the District of Columbia.
